How to reset my cpu on my 93 f250
So ive needed to reset my "brain" on my truck, im pretty sure its an OBD-1 correct me if im wrong. Ive been told to just disconnect the negative on the battery and let it sit for a few minutes then reconnect it and it should reset but ive also heard to take out one of the fuses in the circut board to truly reset it, just need some help with this one so i dont screw anything up, thanks again!

If you don't have a code reader that can reset, then disconnecting the battery will do it. Mine needed more than a couple minutes, but a half hour always did it...

Right, just disconnect the battery for a little while.
Never heard of disconnecting an internal fuse and I don't see how that could do anything useful unless there was electricity attached to the thing (removing the fuse would then break the circuit the fuse was protecting). These things don't have internal batteries so I can't see a need to open the thing up. |
disconnecting and waiting will do it but if you want to speed it up disconnect both positive and negative sides and touch the wire terminals to each other this just allows and stored power to discharge completely
