NEW TO THE SITE..starting my 67 f-100 build
Hey there, like i said im brand new to this site. Found it just researching some info on my new truck i bought last month. well let me rephrase that, new to me its a 1967 f-100. I bought it last month after selling my 54 gmc 5 window and now im going all Ford! I searched high and low for a shortbed for months that was in good shape and actually ended up buying a 1977 f-150 longbed first and was going to convert it to a shortbed. After having buyers remorse and not wanting to do all the work shortening the bed i started looking again and found the 1967 on Craigslist in Prescott Valley. Without haste with cash in hand and a used mountain bike i bartered on Craigslist to sweeten the deal i was off to Prescott to pick up my dreamtruck. I was pleasantly surprised to find out the truck was originally purchased and spent its whole life right here in AZ and i was going to be the SECOND owner. Except for a few small dings it was in pristine shape and all original, even has the factory warranty card and book in the glove box. Its got the original straight 6 motor with 3 on the tree tranny with only 83,430 miles on it. Cruised her back home and started researching everything i could. ive got alot of plans and will post picts and updates of everything as soon as i can find out how to post picts, any help would be greatly appreciated. i think thats enough for now. oh yeah is there a place on here for build threads?? until next time...:-jammin

My only concern with doing the crown Vic swap right now is time. This is my daily driver and I think that would take me more then a couple of days to do. I could swap out the other original parts from the 73 easily in a few days. Any one done a Vic swap??? Let me know how complicated and the time it took? Thanks. Troy

New parts
Well I went to the junkyard on Friday and found a 73 f-100 with every part I needed. I took both front disc rotors, calipers, spindles, power booster, power steering gear box and pump and all the lines for $230 bucks. The yard is pick a part on 83rd ave south of van buren. They got a good selection of cars and trucks including a handful of 67-79 f100-f350. Took me about 2 hours to pull everything off by myself.
I want to go with the crown Vic suspension in the future when I have more down time and swap the motor and tranny out buy for now this should make the old girl drive, handle and stop better. Hahaha. I'm sorry I still don't know how to post pictures?? Until next time. :-jammin |
