Upgrades for a V10
I have a very long and expensive history of modifying every motor I ever owned, until April 2001 when I took possesion of this truck.
Some day I will modify it, but for the last, (or first, depending on perspective), 32,000 miles I have never even once thought that it was underpowered or weak. I have said it in hundreds of different ways, but I think that this is the funnest Truck I have ever owned! :-X04 And I am tickeled to death that feeding it 87 and the occasional bath is all this thing needs. Fast, good looking, handles very well, did I say Fast:-X20 :-X24 :-X10 |

JBA headers are nice headers, the stock air intake is a cold air intake already,do a search here with the search feature and look up zoo-dad air box mods. This is something he can do himself. You can buy a chip or micro-tuner from the online store here.

Do a bunch of searching and light reading right here and on the superduty forum, lot and lots of discussions about V10 exhaust modifications.
Many go-fast parts and other goodies are available on this site. Summit catalog is required reading as is the Jeggs version, don't skip the JC Whintey, though some of their stuff is crap. Be prepared for some sticker shock as headers and Y pipe are usually $500 and up, ( not the $89.99 small block Chevy prices.) Same with most other mods. There are many folks here who have looked at the pricey things and found a "poormans" way... worth reading about. Stop in the quick mart and get one or two Truck and/or 4X4 magazines... tons of ads for EVERYTHING truck and actually quite a bit for the V10 I you poke F-250, or SuperDuty, or Triton V10 into a "Google" search you can spend hours learnig about all the different ways folks spend $$$$$$$ on their truck, and all the different companies willing to take their money. Check out eurkaboy.com Stan has done an extraordinary job of cataloging his mods with photos and notes. |

I'm still waiting on the part numbers on those 40 valve heads off of the Ford 427 Concept car. What was it like 500 hp, 590 torque? Now that's the engine Ford should put in their trucks. Even detune it a little to bring the torque down lower in the RPM range and it would still be a beast. We can still dream can't we?

I would like to see this modular V10 6.8L morphed into a V12 8.2L as a challange to GM to up the ante :-X04 or response if you have the opposit perspective
The 7.3 and 6.0 PSD HP and Torques have proved that the FoMoCo power train can take the strain if cooled properly.:-X10 :-X14 |
