The upstairs shower hasn't been used in 40 years because of a leak. I started investigating it and found hairline cracks in the base, but also found this where the wall meets the concrete base. The crack goes all the way around.

I had a meeting with my boss' boss yesterday. I had applied for a director level position within the department. I was very nicely told that I wouldn't fit for that position. It didn't surprise me in the least. I sort of expected something like it. I appreciated his honesty though in telling me the reasons why and telling me what I need to be able to take a position like that. That was the first 2 minutes of the conversation.

The next 20 minutes and the 10 minutes after lunch took a turn that I did not see coming at all. It was a very good conversation.

GOOD NEWS!!! Bathroom no longer leaks!! YEAH!!! Now let's see if I can get the upstairs shower fixed with the same success.

The house was built in 1962. It's just what was used. The main floor tub is cast iron with an enamel coating.
