Good morning to all ye Fine Folks.......:-wink

Last night......2100 ish....the winds started picking up. In the middle of the night winds must have been steady around 40 mph with gusts......... The trailer even shuddered a little. Had to get up and go out and check on the boat. It did move a little until the anchor dug in.

This morning after the sun came up.......the winds have died down to a light breeze......a little colder than yesterday......

Enjoy a great day......have fun and stay safe........:)

Glad she didn't float away Roy. That would be a crappy way to start the day!

That would have been bad news......The anchors that are sold at the Marinas around here are not good. I am used to anchors that dig in and hold come hell or high water. Of course they do cost a little bit. I am going to get a decent Danforth anchor for her by next season..........

EO2SeaBee 09-13-2015 10:26 AM

We had a decent Danforth for our 21ft cuddy and it did well - even in sand.

Yup. Just like here: Don't like the weather? Wait 5 more minutes.

Spot on. That holds true for most of the southeast coast from Texas around Florida and north into the low country.

We need to get another boat. It's been a few years. I'm still waiting for all my new truck crap to arrive. Amazon is great but sometimes they can really destroy your stuff. We'll see

You really need to be saving for that new fiver Justin!

I do miss that. Fall and sring were my two favorite seasons. Here it is warm, hot and then hot as hell miserable.

Yes I was there in August of 98. Way to hot. 85 at 5 am. No thanks. I was in Mayport command center for special operation. They have giant spiders too. Wife hated those. This year 112 heat index in July . NO!

Is there any other kind? Lol

Last year we were anchored in Lake St Claire and got waked big time from a sport yacht. Snapped the anchor line, set the anchor so hard we had to dive in and physically grab the anchor. :-hair

A little tip for the Danforth style anchor that not everybody knows, mount a 3' +/- chain leader to the anchor, helps it bite in much easier.

Until someone has been along the east slope of the mountains in Montana..........they have no idea about how fast the weather can change!!!!!!

There was an old cowboy up by Great Falls that rigged his wagon with snow runners in front and wheels in the back....because the front would be running in snow, and the back would be running in dust!!!!!!:-X04

Just driving through :)

Been busy with the moving stuff project. On Monday it's a load to the auction, then a load to the dump and Tuesday should be the final load to the new place. If current house closes with no issues then Wed we're out of this town and up to Wasaga.

Only five or six pages of reading after this weekend. You guys have been less chatty, or maybe it's cause Roy's out at the lake camping :)

bigredtruckmi 09-13-2015 05:08 PM

Roy is camping but checking in.

CarlT100 09-13-2015 05:28 PM

Steve, here's hoping the closing goes smoothly. Let us know.
