Happy Thanksgiving to all of my buddies on FTE and to their loved ones as well! Enjoy and appreciate the day and all it represents :)

Dakster 11-27-2014 10:02 AM

I just wanted to say Thanks to all the people on FTE, especially this Forum. You all have been a great part of my life and have helped me out more than you know. Special thanks to Roy and Darren - who have made my epic journey to move from one end of the US to the other easier.

Happy Thanksgiving! Let the parades and football games begin.

Happy thanksgiving all. Smoking a turkey as I type this.

Remember to enjoy your family time as we all know, life and time are short.

Also, remember the military and first responders out there keeping us safe that are giving up their family time, to ensure we have ours. I'm forever grateful, and remember the deployments and shifts well. It's a hard day for them.

Be safe in your travels, as the idiots are out there and will be intoxicated shortly.

Have a good one FTE.

Sgt. Steve you are not kidding about the drunks part. And unfortunately, I will be criss crossing Anchorage tonight... Drunks and icy roads.... Not a good combo.

Drunk driving should be a guaranteed trip to prison.

This is one of those leave you on the side of the road codes. I wouldn't drive it until it is reset. O cant tell you how long until limp mode. I bet not long. u am assuming this is a stock F450? (no programmer on it?) Hopefully a good manually started regen will take care of it. If not next thing is an on the truck DPF cleaning with special cleaner (liquid) put into the DPF. Then it starts to get really expensive if that fails.

You have the best chance of success on not needing a new DPF by not driving it.

Yes everything is original someone told me to check the def fluid but I don't see where it would go I'm traveling from maine to fl and it's been in limp mode for awhile about 300 miles nothing open to get it fixed

amanda waddell 11-27-2014 12:53 PM

I did reset the code but it came right back on

Not related to DEF fluid. That is for NOX emmissions. You have a DPF soot level too high error. Since you have a reader is it one where you can force a regen? Is your F450 a cab and chassis or pickup? If it is a c&c you may have a way in the truck to activate a regen.

What year F450? If 2011 or newer the DEF goes in the blue cap in the fuel door area. Before 2011 there is no DEF.
