Tim it's sad but good that you took the time to visit, best of luck to your Dad, I sure miss mine,
they know when it's time & 94 is a good long life, the cycle goes on........

Good morning gang.

Tim, I'm glad you could spend more time with your dad. Prayers your way for the best outcome.

Have a safe day guys.

Morning all. Tim it's great that you got to spend time with your father. 94 is an amazing life for sure. My great grandpa lived till his mid 90's and passed when I was younger. He saw the world when cars were introduced, to the Lamborghini Countach era. It must have been like Star Wars to him lol.

My oldest grandfather lived to 94. Drank whiskey regularly until the last few weeks and smoked until 93. Was sharp as a tack until the last week or so of his life.

I hope I can live that long & still have my marbles........... my Mom n Dad were both 88........ :(

RigTrash601 11-10-2014 10:35 AM

Tim, It's great you were able to visit with Dad, hopefully you'll have many more to go with it....

Happy Birthday Sgt. Steve! (10 Nov. 1775!!) Semper Fi! 239 years young!:-jammin:-drink

Well, made it back out to the rig, I dreaded it the whole drive down, but hopefully the "mundane & routine" out here will help me get some semblance of normalcy back. Life, for the past 2 weeks, felt like it was spinning out of control. Not something I can put a definition to, just everything was out of kilter I guess, anyway ya'll have a good one, see you later!:-wink

Tim - Glad you could spend time with your Dad. Most in my family live to around 72 - so anytime I have a relative past that point it is bonus time. I had a great uncle make to within days of being 84.

Today is my wife's birthday... Also today there is less than 8 hours of daylight - sun will rise at just before 9am and set at 4:35pm.

THat super storm is bringing really warm temps to the area. Supposed to mid to upper 40s today... Yikes. Bears are even confused. Here is a neighbors porch with a black bear eating bird seed. Normally (as I have been told) the bears are all hibernating by now.

Apparently there was a fire on base... trying to find out more... One of the Moose calf's I took a photo of was killed by a car on Friday. :( Car and driver were ok, which is always good.

Ohh and that Ford truck parked at the back of the lot that we saw - never came back. I guess the person's deployment is over... I saw that truck everytime in the same spot for the past everal months, haven't seen it since we were on base.

EO2SeaBee 11-10-2014 03:44 PM

Dak, happy birthday to Mrs. Dak. What base are you referring to? Must be some inside thing with Roy?

Steve, happy birthday to the Corps.

Thanks to global warming, it is supposed to be down to 36* here Friday morning.
