First, let me welcome you to FTE. Second, let me welcome you to the OK chapter! All it took was for you to post a bit of info about yourself, as you've done with this thread, which is something I ask all the would-be OK chapter members to do. Thanks.

As for living w/i an hour of you, we do have one in Verdigris, one or more in Owasso, and one in Collinsville - all of which are w/in the hour window. Google shows me to be ~50 miles from you, but a bit over an hour. Should be an easy jaunt for the GTG. And, speaking of that, we should have a pretty good turnout so you'll get to meet several fellow FTE'ers.

I am Steve, I live in Hennessey, west of stillwater on Hwy 51. I work on computers for a living, and have a wife, and 2 kids. I own a 2000 Excursion V10 2wd limited with just over 230k.

LOL. Using someone else's thread wasn't quite what I asked for, but I guess it'll do. Welcome to the only chapter of FTE that's OK! ;)

welcome aboard, ya'll. :D I'm one of the guys in Owasso, not too far southwest of Adair. I've never been to that city. Well shoot, i havent been to Hennesey either. There's so much of this state we havent seen yet. Too much state, not enough time.

Post away. ;)

By the way, the OK FTE chapter get-together is now officially scheduled for Sept 15th, starting at 1:00 PM. That's 4 weeks from today. BE THERE!

I'll post this in another thread so it doesn't get buried, but just wanted y'all to know. Send me an email or PM me for directions. It'll be family-friendly and we'll get to know each other, work on whatever you bring, eat snacks, etc.

They may, or they might just look each other's trucks over. Last year we worked on Bruno2's Bronco and then JW Timmi's drag car - with a Ford 460 so it was legit.

I drive an ugly 1989 f250 extended cab 7.3 idi. Not sure anyone would want to work on my truck lol. What are the ages of the people who show'd up last year?

Gary Lewis 08-19-2012 10:03 PM

I won't give the other's names as they may not appreciate it, and my guess as to their age may be off enough to make them mad at me. But, I'll say that over the several meetings we've had:
  • One guy in his late 30's brought his daughter that was about 10
  • Another guy in his late 30's brought his son that will turn 16 in a month or so
  • A guy about 30 brought his drag queen - I mean car.
  • Another guy in his 40's was to bring his son but something happened and the son didn't get to come
  • This time a guy in his late 20's said he'll come
And, there were others, but I think you get the picture. Ages rain from 20's through 30's and 40's to me at a very decrepit 65. ;)

Kinda a diverse group so you should fit right in. I guess I need to get the scrap out of the red truck since we will have a few new faces in the crowd. Hopefully the bronco will be done by spring and everyone can see it done.

Not bringing the drag queen? }> Yep, we'd like to see that Bronco, for sure.
