Dual Mass Flywheel
I have had trouble getting my truck into reverse since Ive had it. Here recently its getting harder to get into first it has a new clutch and slave cylinder. The clutch engages about an inch off the floor I've been doing some research and read that the dual mass flywheel could cause this. The fly wheel shows all the signs of being worn out such as chattering loose springs and a loud clunk when you turn the truck off if you have any opinions about this or if the flywheel could cause the reverse problem please respond. Thanks

Check the plastic bushings under the dash on the petal linkage, then ensure all air is out of hyd for clutch pedal.

should i still replace the flywheel if the springs are loose and rattle at idle

If it where me I would still replace it, but the main root cause maybe something else. You just want to eliminate all possibilites while you are at it.

I went and checked the clip and it was missing so for the time being i wrap the piece coming from the clutch pedel with tape so that the rod was tight it now goes into gear with ease a 12 dollar part is much less than a flywheel now to replace the rear seal what a job to come:-X04
