1955 F100
Hello. I bought this '55 one month ago at auction for 400 bucks. The truck still has its original 239 V8 and 4 speed synchro and packs 3.92 gears in the rear axle. It has the spare tire mount still bolted to the bed. There is no rust on the cab or bed except for the cab floor which needs replaced. The tailgate is not on it at the present time, but the guy who I got it from is looking for it and will turn it over to me if/once he finds it. What amazes me is this truck is very straight for being 57 years old and sitting outside for a untold number of years. It still has the original paint. I will post pics soon.
The VIN is F10V5K28632. The production code is 12HRG5019C. The DSO code is only marked with two stars instead of numbers. The color code is Y. |

Login to FTE. 2.Click User CP (In the Top Left Hand Corner) 3.(On the Left, There will be a list, The 5th Option Down, will say "Pictures & Albums) Click That. 4.Then, Click Add Album, Enter a title, and description, if ya want to. 5. Click Upload Pictures, Then click Browse, Locate the Files of your truck. (You can add 3 files at a time) 5. Click Upload. 6. Add a description to the individual pictures, then click save. 7. Add more files if ya want. 8. Click The Picture you want to post, it will give you two codes at the bottom, Right Click The Second one (It say's BB Code, Then Say's [IMG]http:blahblahblah...[/IMG]) Then, Once that is highlighted, Right Click, Then Copy, Then Paste it into your post. You can add up to 30 Images in one FTE Post. If, Ya need any help, Don't hesitate to ask. |
Congrats on the purchase!! Always good to hear of fellow '55 builders. Just a heads up though, if it has a flathead it's not original. '53 was the last year for the flathead in our trucks. Check the VIN and find out what the original engine was, but the flathead is still really cool!!

Since historically (since the 1930's), new vehicle introduction time begins in September, new vehicle production begins in August. Paint code Y is not listed for 1955. |

that looks extremely solid. The best project are the ones with the least rust, and for $400 that makes it even better.

That's a nice score for $400 without a doubt. I lucked out with my truck but $400 is great anyday in my book for an old car or truck that's solid and mostly original

Thanks for the kind words. I missed out on two 56's over the last 11 years and I wasn't about to let this '55 get away from me. I practically stumbled on the truck by accident and I was surprised at how straight and solid it was despite sitting in the same spot for years exposed to the elements.
