Front hub torque

Just changed the rotors / brakes on my 2004 2 wheel drive. What is the correct way to torque the front hubs ? I heard that the nut should be tightened to 295 ft/lbs with a new nut.

Do you have a torque wrench that goes to 295? Mine only goes to 250. I set them to 250 then give them quick hit with the impact.

we have a large one at work, goes to 500 ft / lbs. I can use it .

I torque the wheel nut as one of the last steps I do. Put the tires back on but leave the center caps off. That way you don't have to worry about holding the hub you can use the park brake or put the truck in gear or park for that. Personally I would torque them to about 175 then go to 295.

Here's a pretty good torque setting sheet that might help you guys out. I use it all of the time over here. http://www.vsm.skf.com/~/media/Files...ve/457377.ashx

in short- no, that didn't do it in any way or fashion. Use can use a torque muliplier or make one...check the internet for the formula....& your 200# TW will work just find & it will be set correctly
