How the cooled seats work

Wondered if they were associated with the ac, but they are not - found this:

in the later Super duties, this is the process they use: Thermoelectric cooling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The climate controlled seats do not use refrigerant and they also are not tied into your air conditioning system . They use a Thermo-Electric Device and a fan to cool and ventilate.

cooled seats

So, if I want to add cooled seats to my 09 Super Duty (when only heated seats were available), I guess I could swap seats with those from a newer model? Since they're electric, I should be able to plug them in directly or modify the wiring and connect them.

I swear my seats got cooler when I had the max ac on, I guess I was mistaken!

The ones in my wifes exp pull the air from the floor and run them thru the device mentioned above so with a cooler floor board and truck overall they will be more effective. They are nice but it feels like you have on wet underwear at least to me it does. Takes a bit to get used to them
