need help looking for a part
 

It seemes that the line that runs from thr master cylinder to the slave cylinder on the clutch is rather hard to find.

This is for a 1960 f-100 w/three speed manual trans.

Can anyone direct me to a place that sells them new.

I wasn't able to come up with much either. Perhaps NumberDummy will come up with a part number for a NOS piece.

You can probably make it out of steel brake tubing if there is no other alternative. Just be sure to make one or two loops about 3-4 inches in diameter in the area where the hose is now. This will absorb the vibration and keep the brake tubing from cracking. Look to 70's, 80's GM brake master cylinder lines for reference if you don't understand what I mean.

Brockwood, I came up with B7TZ-7A512-A for a part number, but a search found nothing.
If you have the old one? Any hydraulic hose shop could build one for you.
I found an old listing for an NOS that was 80.00 in 2007.

I just made mine from metal brake line and it works fine.

For my brake MC, line, which is very similar, I bought two standard ready made brake lines with fittings, and a hose with two female fittings to put in the middle. The brake tubes were really cheap from the rack at napa, and they ordered me the female-female hose and it came the next day. I think the hose was 9" long. But really, a couple of loops works on today's vehicles, so I'm guessing that's a lot cheaper........If it was my clutch, I'm sure I woulda gone with loops, but single master cyl.......I have lost brakes on two old trucks in my life and it is really, really scary! Oh and be careful if you look up 'female to female' on the 'net:D

I went to NAPA, we found a hose that was about the right length that is from a front wheel drum brake of some kind. Then we used short pieces of brake line on each end. IIRC we had one adapter fitting for the hose to get to the brake fitting thread.

For the most part, do rubber NOS parts maintain their integrity?

Depends if the outer coating Ford used on rubber is still present or not. Rubbing ones fingers on it, removes it. But is this M/C to clutch S/C line made oughtta rubber?

Don't recall, and I haven't seen one in person since Carter was prez, parts catalog doesn't say. OP should call the sources and ask.

It's a hard line at each end with a rubber brake hose swedged into the middle. So it's both......
