LEER Tonneau Latch Help
 

I installed Rotary Latches, on an older Leer Tonneau. It is hard to get the Latches to disengage. There is a "U" shaped guide that the cable threads thru, I'm thinking they need to be closer to the latches. Can anyone help me on how the cable is run to the Cam action type rotary latches? Pictures would help. How close are the "U" guides are to the latches? Also there are two threaded pads on the older style that contact the Tonneau top when it is closed. Do the newer caps have these?
