Flex Fuel Emblem on Tailgate?

Anyone remove theirs' yet? Is it simply attached with adhesive or are there any alignment pins or studs through the sheet metal? I want mine gone, but not if there will be gaping holes in the tailgate. Thanks.

I am not sure about the flex fuel emblem... But for what it is worth - I had a contractor doing some work the other day & he had an '11 6.7 without powerstroke emblems... I questioned him about it - he said that they just "peeled" them off - Stuck on with adhesive only... no pins - My guess on the flex -fuel is adhesive only...

Cool. Thanks for that. I'm guessing the same, just didn't want to get ahead of myself and then have to live with some eyesore holes.

If it was me wanting to do this, I'd run a piece of fishing line through it, sawing back and forth. If you get stuck on the pins (if they exist), then what's left of the adhesive will probably hold it on enough... If there's nothing there, the line will go all the way through, then you just have to remove whatever's left of the adhesive.

This is just me thinking out loud, have no idea if this would work, but this is what I'd start with....

I just pulled mine off, all the sticky tape came off with the badge. There are no holes behind the badge either. There was a little of the residue left behind which I got off with some Goo Gone.

WD-40 gets rid of the goo , also. Thanks for input kmonty.

Awesome. Thanks for the confirmation. I'm peelin' it off tonight. I have no use for that stupid badge.

In some states that badge is a free pass to ride in the carpool lane (flex fuel vehicle). Not that we have those here in PA, just sayin'....

I put mine on my golf cart. My towel kept getting caught on it while I was washing my truck.

Hello, this is the first time I have posted here, but I bought a 2002 explorer 4.0 v6 and found out that it is a FFV, with a "K" as the 8th number in the vin, so but does not have a flex fuel emblem on the back end. Did this type of explorer ever have one or what ?

It would say flex fuel on the gas filler door

For some reason "Flex Fuel" just doesn't look right on an American truck.
