Hi Folks! It's good to be a part of the Oklahoma chapter of FTE! I live in Fairview which is around forty miles west of Enid. I drive three Ford trucks, two of which I own. I have a '66 F100 Custom Cab LWB, 302, 4speed which is a driver and a work in progress, and a 2001 F250 Crew Cab Lariat Platinum Edition Super Duty, 7.3, auto, 4x4, just turned 79k miles. The third one is my company truck, 2011 F350 Ext. Cab, 6.2, auto, service bed. I spend most of my time on the 61-66 forum and sometimes the Super Duty. Looking forward to meeting you guys sometime in the future.:-wink

2006 F250 6.0l diesel CC FX4. Just moved from Chelsea to Owasso, and was welcomed with a busted drivers rear window and a missing stereo! :-arrgh

Enough about that, looking forward to some meet and greets... :-X22

We had one a couple of months ago, so maybe another one in early Sept. Hope you can make it.

Sorry to hear about the theft, I hate thieves. Anyway have you had many problems with the 6.0 how many miles you have on it. I have an 07 and it has had all kinds of problems. The latest egr problem put me on the side of the hwy with a trailer. Hope you have had more luck than I have.

I educated myself via this forum and did a bunch of work up front as maintenance and completely trust my truck!

The only two things I've had to repair due to failure has been the FICM and EGR valve. The FICM I sent off to Ed at ficmrepair.com. My truck has 115k, I purchased it with 96k.

Do you do all your own wrenching, if not where do you take your truck for repairs?

Most of my problems have been injector related, it eats them pretty regular, every body tells me just replace and go on. Even the guys at diesel power plus use the ford injectors. I change oils and fuel filters regular. I have replaced 1/2 the ficm. I have the old part and plan on sending it off to be redone. Does Ed increase the voltage to the injectors when he does the rebuild? The oil cooler also took a crap was told after ward to replace every 80,000 miles regardless as maintenance, mine lasted to 150,000. If I had the time I would do my own work, this truck is my work truck and I loose money every day it's down. Joe cooper ford has been doing all my work.

No Ed does not increase the voltage and I would not recommend doing so. Some have had good luck and others have not.

Do you have a Scan Gauge or something similar to keep an eye on things? Week batteries or alternators can cause FICMs to crap out and low voltage from the FICM can cause injectors to crap out. Then you have the hpo side of the injector that can cause run ability issues.

I would suggest taking you truck to RC auto specialist going forward. They specialize in Powerstrokes and are honest and fair priced!! If you ever want to tackle a job yourself, give me a shout.

Do you have a coolant filter, and flush on a regular basis?

That stinks. Sorry to hear about that. What part of Owasso was the truck in when you got robbed? We're in the El Rio Vista and I'm part of the unofficial neighborhood watch.

We are stay at Preston Lakes apts until our house is built! It's gated, but not to those that walk in.... We were able to see the tracks in the dew from a parking spot outside the gate, straight to my truck. The police said 3 Ford trucks were hit the same night at The Greens....

JW, I have a freind here in town that has a shop, and works on all 3 brands of diesel pickups. This could be a cheaper option than using a dealer, and perhaps a bit more convenient. If you're interested in talking with him, I'd be happy to give you his name/number.
Heck, he lives right there by you.
