Spyntec front hubs 1999 F350
 

After years of fighting with the factory non servicable front hubs (wheel bearings) on my 250,000 mile 99 F350 4X4 dually I spent the bucks and bought the Spyntec's. My only regret is that I should have done this 5 hubs ago!!! These things are awesome and well worth every penney!!!!
I ran into issues with my stock hubs back when the truck had stock tires. I later converted it to the 19.5 semi wheels and tires. My last hub was a Napa premuim line hub and it only lasted 28 days with 1680 miles on it. This whole factory design sucks! Im totally impressed with Spyntec because when I got my instructions out of the box Matt had hand written his cell number and wrote call me anytime with any questions. I had to call on Sunday with a question and he answered!!! He was more than helpful. Thats what I call service and its an awesome built product!!! :)

Agreed pics would be nice. How many deer did they set you back if you don't mind me asking. I am about to tear into the front hubs on mine.

What makes the spyntecs so nice? Are they more easily serviceable? I saw a price on Pirate offroad for around 1550 for a set.

Did you get stub shaft with yours as well, or just the hubs?

I think the pics on his website will be better than mine because I installed the outer offset adapters (dually) and you cant see much...
The only 2 choices I could find for this type of conversion was Spyntec and Dynatrac. After speaking to both companys and doing my research I found that the Spyntec was a more finished off product and the ABS ring was incased. I'm in the automotive field and know that when the sensor is exposed it will attract anything that is metalic because it is a magnet and you would be suprised how much crap from the open air will find its way on there. Also I didnt like the ring being open to damage, rocks, limbs etc. Also with my truck being a dually the Dynatrac required a special adaptor for $350. The Dynatac was already more money than Spyntec and the Spyntec was a better design.
The reason both are better is that yes they are a servicable design but they also use larger taper style bearings and place them further apart on the shaft which makes the assembly more stable and less prone to failure. Call Spyntec and ask for Matt. He is one of the owners. You are correct on the pricing but after I had gone through 5 hubs at about $400 each it was a no brainer not to mention down time. Yes the kit comes with the stub shafts, you have to convert to them to run this design.

I hope I have the extra cash for the Spyntecs when my unit bearings need replaced. Better design than unit bearings IMO.

Those are sweet. A lot less parts to worry about and they look much more stout too. That is big chunk of change, but I am sure they are not a cheap item to make either.

If I was off road or doing a lot off mudding, trail riding, etc. these would be at the top of the list of things I would want to replace.

They are worth it, just out of my price range right now. :-X16
