Lincoln Y Blocks what parts interchange?
Have always played with 4,6and small(Windsor) V-8's. Don't have any info on Y-blocks and so I know Lincoln had the 317,341 and 368 engines. Will intakes or exhaust manifolds made for the Ford Y blocks fit the Lincoln engines? Are all the Lincoln engines hyd cammed? What are the main differences between the Lincoln engines and the Ford engines. :D

oil pump is only thing that interchanges

The rocker arm stands will work on either motor.

That's interesting about the rocker arm stands. Rocker arms and pushrods are different?
|
I do believe the rocker arms and pushrods are different.
The Ford stands have the hole for the shaft in the center. The Lincoln stands have the hole slightly off center. On one side it places the shaft at the same height as the Ford. On the other side it places them a little higher. Useful for getting the valve geometry dialed in. But shims are often needed despite the stands used so it's not much use to scour the earth for a set of Lincoln stands. It's just one of those things to get if you come across them because you "might use them one day" Mummert sells new aluminum stands with the hole off center. |
Charlie is right, the rocker arms are off center compared to the Y. I bought a NOS set that was supposed to be for the 239-312 series, but it was for the lincolns. Ditto on the stands also. The adjusters and nuts are the same as we use.
