A great way to start the morning. Two dead batteries

Uh oh. Had this a few weeks ago myself. Ended up getting 2 new Motorcrafts from the local dealership. Oddly enough they were not that much more expensive than getting batteries somewhere else (I looked at Deka, Duralast Gold, NAPA, etc) and the price and warranty on the Motorcrafts made me go that route. The guy at the dealership said he is pretty sure based upon the lack of markings, labels, stickers, etc. on the ones I returned as cores that they were the originals!

Your luck Mike is going to have to change to the better soon.

Bullwinkle's orginal batteries? How is that possible?

You know, I think we are on to something.

There was some guy who put dodge tow mirrors on his PSD, which some people raved about here and I thought it was retarded.

My little boy was playing in the truck Saturday and turned the key on and I didn't check it after he got out. My batteries are only a year old. It's not fun to jump start a PSD with a 4 banger ford escap. I hate to say but I hade to break out the starting fluid it's was 38* this morning

Sitting at a stop light this morning and happen to look over at an old timer giving me the thumbs up. Turns out I had CCLB dually OBS stroke pulling a nice size 5er next to me. We exchanged pleasantries and I gave him a wave and a little turbo whistle on our departure.

The batteries that were in the truck were pulled form the first truck I parted out (the one from which I pulled this engine). It had 260k or so on it. The guy said that since the batteries didn't have any fancy stickers on them that he thought they were original. Said the only Motorcraft batteries he has ever seen that didn't have stickers and labels on them were OE batteries that were installed in the vehicle on the line. I don't know if they were or not, but their warranty was the best for the price of the batteries so that's what I went with. So far so good! :-jammin

LOL! crappy cold start is right! I think I've got 3-4 burnt gp pins on my quality dorman gaskets now so mine isn't real good, but better than that! I need to get them parts from clay one of these times I'm ordering too.

You and me both. I forgot to order a GPR from him last time I ordered filters and stuff. Wonder if he can get our block heater cords too.. Mine is jacked up. I need a block heater cord and a GPR and I'll be good to go.

Started for me about a week ago the first time the temperature got down to 35*. Scared the crap out of me the first time it happened. I thought I was about to have my 2nd no start in the first 3 months of owning the truck. Just got to double cycle the key though and it's all good :-X22
