Ugh, Glenn. I'm sorry, that's just crappy. No pun intended. Wish we could come help..... Sometimes you gotta wonder how much more a guy can take...

stainlessstroker95 09-22-2015 01:17 PM

Glenn your insurance is gonna drop you by the end of this trip. Hope things don't get any worse.

oldbird1965 09-22-2015 01:49 PM

I asked about keeping the meat JP, LOL

Thomas, pretty soon I'll be a babbling idiot!

I don't carry full coverage on the Geo. The only reason I carry it on the OBS is that the liability coverage extends to the 5er.

DIYMechanic 09-22-2015 02:21 PM

Awe man.... That's a sweet little ride too.... Doggone it. Stupid deer.

Awitte58 09-22-2015 02:58 PM

Thanks everyone for the well wishes! I lucked out on the purchase! Everything I could ask for and more!

Todd - I can grow a mean mustache but I'm not a huge fan of the maintenance required. The 'amish' look works best for my low maintenance lifestyle. LOL

Sorry to see the Geo is banged up Glenn! Deer have a deathwish sometime.

427 fordman 09-22-2015 04:13 PM

Stupid deer. At least it wasn't the truck Glenn!!!

Congrats on the house Alex!

fordman67 09-22-2015 05:02 PM

You gotta be making that up Glenn.

I would just go sit in a corner..screw it ALL!

I'm really good at faking photos! LOL you know what they say around here, pictures or it didn't happen!

Ya, I'm sick about it. I've got to grin and bear it, my luck has to change one these days!!

dclack 09-22-2015 05:27 PM

Man that sucks! I swerved to miss a deer once; slid off the road and hit a very stout mail box in my parents Geo Prizm... or at least that's the story my parents got! :-innocent

So now's the time for the truth Glen... who were you racing in the Razz? }>

oldbird1965 09-22-2015 05:52 PM

Nobody, the razz is gutless, lol. It was just one of those split second deals, came from the right, slamed on my brakes cutting the wheel to the left. It was a small buck and one of his horns punched a hole in the grill. I'm glad it didn't get the radiator! My dog wasn't happy at all, she flew from the back seat to the front!

martin72 09-22-2015 09:26 PM

Sorry your having such luck Glenn.

My buddy was in gridlock, in the city, dead stopped traffic and a buck rammed his driver door. Munched it so bad he couldn't open the door and shattered the window. He was a little freaked out about the entire thing!

I don't have a lot of personal experience with it, but I know a thing or two about it. Geothermal is expensive to get installed, but it is pretty doggone efficient to use. One consideration you have to take into account on geothermal is that you really need to run it year round (use the A/C in the summer) to really realize the benefits of the system.

If you're looking to install new, I'd also recommend you check out some of the newer heat pump technologies too. We have some Mitsubishi heat pump systems here at work that will work down to 20* and they're slick! We did a whole building with them and it rarely uses the emergency heat at all even in the dead of winter. Everything is on VFDs and they just ramp up and down to run as efficiently as possible. Very efficient, and cheaper to install than the geothermal stuff would be.
