The reps are cool but I don't do it for fame or fortune lol Ya, I hear ya. :-X22 It's just another way of thanking someone, and I do that whenever I can. I thanked the ride operators at valleyfair every time our ride was over. :D |
True sir. Duely noted. Just gotta help my FTE brothers out.

Cool! What are you doing with the rear axle?
|
Goin to the junk man, it's a c+c axle. Gonna pull the carrier.

It seems this has been the week, or month, for builds, rebuilds (or Re-Billds) :-X04 repairs, and upgrades. In all of the chaos, I sort of forgot where we are and updating my FTE brothers on what's happening. We are in the Texas Hill Country for the next three months. I no longer work at the ranch riding colts for a few reasons. My boss was a first class jackazz for one. I got hurt on a colt while we were at a show down in Fort Worth. It spooked at a computer screen and proceeded to put on a good bucking bronc show for everyone to see. While I didn't come off, the ability to stay on cost me a herniated disc in my lower back and and warranted 3-6 weeks of recovery time or run the chance of blowing the disc and having REAL problems. Long story short, my boss let me go. It really opened my eyes to where the horse industry is at right now. He was willing to let me go because I couldn't "cowboy up and ride through the pain". Now needless to say, I couldn't stand up straight let alone ride a 2 year old or anything else for that matter. Like my professor said, he was willing to sacrifice his program over 3 weeks of down time to hire someone new and teach them the ropes and learn about all of the horses that I already had dialed in. I even told him I could work and saddle for 3 weeks while I healed, but just couldn't ride. Ah well, sometimes God works things out in ways we don't expect. While I miss being on the back of a horse and working cows, I don't miss the absolute BS that the industry has become.
So, we are in the Hill Country until January to help my Father IN Law while I continue with grad school and then we head back to Southern CA for good. I am applying for teaching jobs in Special Education and taking this Fall to regroup and get direction again. I hate being an adult sometimes. This isn't truck related, but it does have to do with my truck being good for the drive back west...LOL :-drink Thanks for listening! |
All you can do is move on. Screw that old boss you had. I hope your back is doing better, back pain sucks. I have it everyday. A teaching job, especially in special ed takes a real man to do. I respect the heck out of that.
Good luck Byron. |
Hey man I totally agree with you on the state of the horse world. My girlfriend works cutting horses and from what she has experienced and I have seen, 90% of the people out there are just not nice people. She's working for one of those good 10% now but it's sad how money and partying is more important to the trainers than their employees and especially their horses. I'm glad you've got a backup plan and wish you the best! Have fun reaching those kiddos!

How the hell is everyone

Hey Mike! I was just going to send you a pm and see what you were up to. Good to see ya man. Doing ok here, how bout you?
|
I'm doing good. I was released to go back to work but man between PT, going back to work, catching up on my powder coating job and things around the house it's just crazy.
The good news is I'm around 90% back to my self and hope to be 100% by the end of the year |
That is real good news you're doing better. It's amazing what happens when you can't keep up on normal day to day things.
