He also tied for first place for the average, but lost the coin flip, so also has the buckle for Reserve Champion in the average. All in all Dylan has had an outstanding 2 weeks, bringing home the reserve champion at both the National high school , and National little britches rodeos. A pretty good job for a 15 year old freshman. The buckles also come with scholarships for collage, just how much I don't know, but IF he keeps this up, he may have a free ride for his collage education.

Nice Tom! Riding broncs is no easy task...ask me how I know! :-X04 I am glad he is getting to something he loves and actually get a monetary reward for it.

Thanks Tom and Byron. Dylan seems to have a natural talent for riding broncs. More than one person has told me this. I think he was on the ground more than he rode, until this spring. Then it all came together for him. At least he never gave up trying.

if i could figure out how to always do a rolling start it would be great, but there is always that one jackwagon that just HAS TO BE in front of the big bad truck at the red light. even when we are the only two vehicles on the 4 lane road, and they will not move until i come to a complete stop.

Just do what some UPS drivers do: slam it into 1st without pushing the clutch lol

Thanks Nick!

if i am on a slight downhill, i just let off the brakes and roll until it will slip into gear.

if i an on flat level, i will rev the engine up and slip it into deep reduction at the bottom of the let off, around 400 rpms, and then tag the throttle. no grind and no clutch needed. the big problem is most lights are on the reverse of the hill where i am usually sitting nose uphill.

BuckHammer 07-26-2015 06:20 PM

I just use the clutch, haha.

That's great Tom, he still has a couple more years to compete before moving on, doesn't he?

That is great Tom!! Congrats to him and the proud Grandpaw! LOL! I know how you feel. I have seven grandsons. A couple of them are really doing well in sports. I am very proud of all of them.....so you just go ahead and brag all you want to, and we will keep cheering him on!! :-X22

Thanks Glenn. Yes Dylan has 3 years left in high school, so 3 more chances for the National title. As for the little britches rodeos, I'm not certain what the cut off age is for that.
Thanks Bill, I have 9 grand children 4 boys and 5 girls, and am proud of all of them. Dylan is the oldest, so it is exciting to have him doing so well. He is competing in the state 4H rodeo this weekend. We'll see how he does down there. If he draws a good horse, he should do all right.

Congratulations Tom. Like Bill said, brag away. I know I would!

Happy Monday Morning Brothers!

liftnw8z 07-27-2015 07:48 AM

I dunno about "happy" but yes, Monday morning...lol.

Spent the weekend cleaning up the frame rails on my OBS, giving it some fresh paint to make things look a bit better. Much needed, for sure.

madMatador78 07-27-2015 08:10 AM

I got nothing done I wanted to get done This weekend. But it's all good.

Defiantly a Monday. Lol.
