After the tuner I'm gonna slow down a bit lol, save up for some fuel mods like injectors, hpop, and regulated return line. I did get this truck to tow my toys to the playground lol, and there starting to suffer. Gotta spread the love you know lol?

How are your 60' times now?

magicsac1366 06-05-2012 11:32 AM

Consistently there 1 or 2 tenths faster. If the weather holds today ill be back. Hopefully with some faster times, (its 10-15* cooler) :D

magicsac1366 06-06-2012 10:25 AM

Same best time, 17.3~ @80.8 but better 60' s at 2.6

My tuner will be in Thursday, ill see how that effects my 60' times lol. And my air temp gauge should be in today. I'll throw my stock air box in and do a temp comparison.

Your tuner definately won't help your traction! haha

magicsac1366 06-16-2012 12:17 AM

update, i got a few runs in with the tuner. ran 16.164, 16.163, and 16.158. spun like hell and got an extra 7-8mph in my trap speed so its about 88mph

so, that tuner took me from a 17.3~ to a 16.1~ not bad! i gotta do somthing about tires, and maybe changing a few other things around. i wanna see 15's... i saw a guy with a crew cab 7.3 auto w/35" tire run 15.4 with a edge tuner, intake and 4" exhaust.

Brown Falcon 06-16-2012 10:39 AM

Sweet! Seems like the tuner really helped out. Traction is key now.

magicsac1366 06-19-2012 10:50 PM

Well went 16.0 @87... If I cant hit 15s I'm gonna pop lol... I dunno what to do next, I wish there was somthing under a grand that could make me go faster. Maybe bigger back tires... Think getting those aluminum intakes and the hutch mod would do it?

Brown Falcon 06-19-2012 11:07 PM

You should be able to get some bigger injectors from Rosewood Diesel Shop for under a grand... I have a set of Stage I budget built from Rosewood and they are great, and well under a grand.

magicsac1366 06-20-2012 08:20 PM

wow, there cheaper then strictly diesel's i was hoping to end in the 450-500 hp range tho, not sure if i want to spend the 800 now and 1600 later for bigger injectors. either way i'll have to ship out my chip to get re burnt for them. maybe i'll wait to see if anybody buys my tonnaue cover, or m-90 and get them with that money.

also, will a stock fuel system, low milage hpop, lift pump, and non-regulated return hold up to even the 160s?

Brown Falcon 06-20-2012 08:32 PM

Yep, should hold up to 160's fine. Mine is still running the stock mechanical fuel pump and 15 degree HPOP (yours is 17* and much better) and it keeps up with the 160's alright. My HPOP runs out of steam at WOT though, so looking to upgrade that down the road.

magicsac1366 06-20-2012 08:36 PM

hmmm, good advice. at half the price of the bigger injectors maybe ill end up doing that. i feel like im at the point where everythings getting really expensive lol.

Brown Falcon 06-20-2012 09:52 PM

Might consider the Stage II's, still 160cc but bigger nozzles so better power. Not much more than the Stage I 160cc with stock nozzles.

I know its a dodge with a cummins, but he was running high 12's at 115 in 4 wheel drive. His mods were bigger injectors, twin turbos and a well built trans with a shift kit. He decided to buy ladder bars for the rear and i tried to talk him out it, i explained how ladder bars are designed to work but he didnt listen to me. The input shaft in the tranny snapped because of the weight and the huge amount of torque diesel's make. I drag raced and built chassis for almost 30yrs. Heres one way to lower your 60's, shallow stage, leave on the last yellow with a little boost and see what happens. Good luck. :-X22
