Replacing brake booster

Just wondering if there is supposed to be a gasket/seal between the booster and the firewall. When I pulled off the old one, there wasn't one there. There was some rust from the old booster, which I scraped off.

Also, on the brake light switch, there are two spacers and a bushing. Is the second spacer supposed to go outboard between the switch and the spring clip? I think it does, but can't remember.

There wasn't a gasket on mine either. I can't remember about the plastic spacers.

Thanks Burnout, I was thinking that there isn't supposed to be one. After looking at the shop manual, I'm going to assume that the spacer should be between the cotter pin and the brake light switch bracket.

that sounds right. If I was looking at it I know I could put it back together right but I'm drawing a blank without looking at it.

I can tell you doing it on an F-series is about 20 times easier than trying to get at in in a '74 ranchero.

The sad thing is, I only had it off long enough to replace the booster and forgot how it went back together. Sucks getting old :(

On my 89 F250, there was whats left of a gasket bewteen firewall and booster. Not sure if it was factory or a PO put it in. I made a new gasket up to help keep water from coming in.
