Dash gear indicator

Brand new 150 STX 4X4 with tow package. When first bought dash indicated change of each gear, 1 through 6 . Today I only see that it is in drive. What did a touch?

Try shifting with your plus/minus button. That should make it show up. Also the steering wheel reset with up and down right left should find it to.

"Owners manual" is always a good place to start.

Press the upper button and they will illuminate. With them showing they should appear every time you restart the engine. If they don't you will have to have the ECM flashed. It goes to the last way it was set. Mine used to only come on when I manually called for them to show until I saw my brothers come on all the time. I took it to several dealers and they said that is the way it's supposed to be. BS I said. I finally told them to flash the EC M anyway and lets see what happens. Guess what it works like I said it would.

I am not use what you mean when you said the upper button. Are you referring to the manual shift on the shift arm? If so, which way to you move the button? Push toward the - or the +
Thanks

Not one to try to hijack a thread, just popped into my mind. On the 2010's ( I guess it is the same from 2009 - 2012 ) why is the gear selected to drive in, oh let's say D for drive, highlighted in uh-oh orange and not green? Drives me nuts.

Odd I would think the orange should be for neutral and the drive gears be green.

Exactly. I hate driving and seeing that constant orange glow around "drive". Green would have been a much better color.

Doesn't matter. once illuminated they should reappear every time.

When driving normally in D simply priess the + button and the gear indicator will come on and stay on unless you press the - button. I really like this feature to have the gear indication both in Manual and Drive.

That button comes in handy for locking out 5th and 6th gears on occasion too.

I completely forgot about this option until I saw this thread. Turned it on when I was out and about while ago. Cool option.
