Work Trucks

In the last week I had the opportunity to drive a 6.2 in my work environment for the first time. I was driving the identical truck with a V10 the day before. To my surprise the 6.2 performed better in very hostile off road conditions hauling diesel fuel to dewatering pumps in the field. I expected the V10 to do better with what I thought was a better low end torque curve, but the opposite held true. There were several places where I had to put the 08 V10 in low range to get through where the 6.2 would just keep pulling. I don't know if the V10 was over due for a tune up or what, but the 6.2 won between the 2 trucks hands down. The V10 had 4.10's and the 6.2 had the 4.30's. Not a big enough spread to really make much of a difference. Especially considering the 6.2 had larger tires installed.

Thats a little surprising but not totally. The new v-8s are really quite awesome. Hopefully they will be a long lasting engine like the 5.4 and 6.8L engines before them.

Low range in a v10 your saying high range could not spin the tires? Wow thats why I wont own a newer truck
