Dent spotting!

Hey guys, I'm really digging this forum. Awesome trucks and it has really motivated me with mine. I truly think the Dent Sides are coolest looking trucks ever made. I might be biased because my much older brother had a Ranger back when I was a kid but I know I like them a lot. They definitely haven't been able to match the classic look since.

Funny thing is now I notice dent sides almost everywhere now, I even have a couple of co workers that have them. One is the original owner of a '73 F250 2wd. The other is a '78 F250 project.

After going through a couple of threads that members have posted of their trucks it gave me an idea.

Post pics of, or at least describe, the dents you happen upon going about your daily business, heading to work, running to the store, dropping your kid off to school, etc.

I'll start with a cool High Boy that is always in front of the local grocery and must belong to an employee. I know the headlight/blinker configuration means it's pre-77 1/2 but I can't tell much more than that.

Go to the Forums at the top and hit the drop down menu and ck out the "Spotter's Cards".

Granted not a real smart thing to be sticking things on folks trucks, but figure out a way to spread the word, CAREFULLY!!

I carry them as business cards in my wallet and just stick them in the door pull or window anti rattle track.

I also jot down my FTE user name on the back, so its a little more personal than a random card, makes for better PR IMO. Good thread idea BTW....

I've been surprised by how many dents are in downtown Denver where gas prices are high, and the street so narrow usually only one vehicle at a time can pass, and usually the other person pulls over when they see an old truck coming at them. I've been considering putting a card or something to start like a Capital Hill Ford Truck Exchange, to exchange ideas or locate parts or help each other when working on one of them.

Funny thing, I was just out running around and I saw about 3 dents I'd never seen before. Managed to get a quick snap of this tired old man. Looks like it has updated seats though.

A Bronco I pass coming home from work almost every day.

There are a couple more I haven't had a chance to snap picks of yet.

No way for me to get a picture of it probably, but I see a two tone green 78-79 on my to and from work every morning and evening. In the morning I'm headed south and he's headed north, of course the opposite after work.

There are enough dentsides around here that the local NAPA store carries a lot of parts for them. It's rare that I have to have anything ordered when I need something. The owner, a friend of mine and who I bought my '79 from, said there were way more older Fords still running in the area than comparable Chebbies.:-X22

Here's a 73 Crew Cab that belongs to a retired Fire Fighter that I see in my neighborhood every now and then. Sadly not very many dents left around here that are not Gardeners trucks so to see them is a rare sight.

And a 77 F250.

My other co-worker's, drove it off the lot, original owner '73 F250. The vintage plates are a testament to that. This is the last of the dents I see regularly.

I took my preferred route to work yesterday. I haven't done it in weeks because there is some heavy construction along the way. I go through every so often to see if it's cleared up enough to make it convenient again, it hasn't. But I saw 3 more and managed a pic of this flat bed.

That doesn't bother me. They're future builds, restos or at the very least parts donors. Dents were built to use and seeing one that is still working hard after 3+ decades is awesome no matter how ugly it might be.

There's a beautiful white EC 3/4 ton on the way to the store. I'll see if I can snap a picture of it. One pulled in my driveway yesterday! This belongs to Bob. (Ubereal2)

There's also a white '79 1/2 ton 4x4 that goes by everyday. (It may be my old truck, but he never stops in so I can verify that) He just blows the air horn on the way by.

I met up with a guy who's got a '78 F250 at my local NAPA - no pictures, though I should have snapped a cell phone picture.

In my Mother-in-Law's neighborhood, there are at least two (2!) dents that I've seen - one is almost an exact copy of mine (77.5 F250 XLT Ranger Medium Blue). The other was driving by so I only got a quick look.

It's cool that you still see them around!
