Whats a good exhaust for me?

I have an 88 f250 with a 351w. I was wondering if any of you guys have any good exhaust setups. I am not looking to do headers but let me know what you guys have.

Factory manifolds, Bassani 3" y-pipe, 3" Magnaflow converter and muffler. Then finished off with a 3" aluminized tailpipe, please do not tell my truck it was designed for a Chevy.....

I blew my budget on the 3" stainless Bassani y-pipe, hence the reason why I am still running factory manifolds.

I kept everything just changed the muffler.I went with a Thrush welded. Nice mellow sound.

My last set up on my 351w was stock manifolds, stock piping up to where it was supposed to be a y. Made a better flowing y pipe into 3" pipe then into a 3" single in single out flowmaster 50 series and a 45 out behind the passenger rear tire. Sounded like a mustang with a 302 if you cut off the exhaust after the cat on it. No crackle or pop. Mellow under 3000 rpms and a nice roar after that.
My current set up is a set of long tube 3" collector dynomax headers into a 3" single in single out summit street and strip muffler then it goes to a 45 degree angle out before the rear tires. Sounds a lot meaner and lower, but still decent at low rpms. The headers with the full 3" pipe and lack of tailpipes freed up a ton of power. You can tell a difference in the seat as well as in the pocket. gained 1 mpg average swapping to the current set up.

I like the y pipe into the 3 inch pipe. If i fid that i would probably use a flowmaster 40 and just cut the cat off. Anybody have a good dual exhaust setup.

My current exhaust is dual. I should have been more descriptive.

I cut mine off just before the cat ran a piece of 3" pipe into a 3" in flowmaster super 44 and a 3" turndown directly after muffler which is just infront of the rear axle.
Search "thebudmiester" in YouTube i have some exhaust clips there

Mine is catless, factory piped into 2 cheap glass pack, rumbles at an idle, and roars past 3k, easy and doesnt sound bad

I have pacesetter full length headers, custom Y pipe with magnaflow cat and a super 44 dumped after axle.

What do you guys think of a y pipe into a single 3" then a single in single out magnaflow muffler then dump it in front of the rear wheel.

There are a bunch of exhaust sound clips of different combinations here: Exhaust sound clips - FSB Forums

I run a 2 1/4" -> 3" flowmaster y pipe with flowmaster 40 series muffler. No cat

If I were you, I would get the exhaust out from under the truck. As in aim it out the side somewhere or out the back. The single 3" will bring up torque though.

I've got a 94 with a 5.8 and factory manifolds, Y pipe and cat. 3" from the cat to a magnaflow and then 3" out to the rear of the truck. Sounds great and I make good power. It's a simple and inexpensive exhaust. Not sure if the truck gained any extra mileage with my setup as my dad did it before he gave me the truck.

Mines dumped right infront of the rear axle. The closer to the end of the exhaust (right before the dump) the louder it will be as well. Mine dumps right after TW muffler
