Transmission Line to Radiator Fittings
I am planning to replace the radiator soon on my 1985 F150 with an AOD transmission. The two brass fittings that screw into the radiator transmission cooler for the transmission lines to screw into are in pretty bad shape, and I would like to replace these as well.
Can someone tell me where I can find these, or what these are called and what size? Thanks! |
Not real sure what thread they are, but they're basically just an adapter fitting.
Quite often, they are included with a replacement radiator. |
The are oddball and peculiar to ford, stop by a rad shop, they should have them in a service bin.

I bought a new radiator for my f100. Have swapped out the original 300 to a 460 so when I replaced the radiator I put one in speced for the 460 which had different fittings.
New radiator had plugs threaded in there so I was able to just take one of those to the hardware store and get the right ones. They are just NPT to flare fittings that you can find at any hardware store. And as I found out....different radiators will have different sizes. Both were I believe 3/8 flare but the NPT going into the radiator was different. 3/8 on one and the other was 1/2 I think. But again common fittings you can get at most any hardware store...got mine at ACE |
Radiator Fittings
The only place I could find cooler fittings for the Ford radiator was here.
Teckpak / Fitzall transmission parts and tools Hope this helps....:-X22 |
