F150 EcoBoost Engine belts
 

First Post - bear with me !!!
Relatively new F150 EcoBoost fell victim to a suspected cat sleeping in engine compartment. Dont know the cats condition but the engine dropped both belts -- please don't laugh. Belts appear to be OK and I have access to the area from below (removed some of the shrouds). I can't tell how to relax the belts paths in order to reinstall - What appears to be the tensioner on the serpintine is not like any I have dealt with in the past. Info on any special tools or technique would be invaluable. Post back if I can provide more details. Thanks in advance - Dale

I popped the hood on my truck looking for a serpentine belt diagram and nothing. In the owners packet there is a very thin pamphlet that has the diagram on it. The idler pully is about center engine under what appears to be the a/c compressor or alternator. By the looks of the diagram, there is only one belt.

My ecoboost has 2 belts the A/C goes toward passenger side - it is narrower and quite short with no obvious tensioning method - maybe the compressor is adjustable. Everything else is on the serpentine - it has what appears to be the tensioner (no shoulder on it) in the center above-right of the drive pulley - no obvious method for releasing the tension such as a 3/8 or 1/2 square drive hole - it's not on a pivot arm, so not easy to figure out how it releases. My 2011 owners book shows a routing diagram on page 415 - not showing the 2 belts clearly but otherwise OK. The crank pulley has 2 tracks on it - narrow one aft for the A/C - anyway, no problem with routing - only how to relax tension. If I knew that I could have it back together pronto. Sure appreciate your input. Dale
