2012 F250 CNG Option
 

On the phone with Ford Dealer today getting the specs on the new CNG Fuel system from westport for the F250. Apparently Westport has a plant next to the Ford's Kentucky Plant. So when I order my new beast it arrives at the dealer CNG ready and a full CNG Tank. Total cost $9700.00
for the total package including the CNG ready engine. This is the quote from Westport last week.

The fuel tank is the size of a tool box in the bed. My only concern is my want to get a fifth wheel and what issues this will present. Thoughts?

Eight foot bed, I hope. $9700 seems like a lot, but the tank is the biggest part and a huge one is needed to get any range on CNG. Compared to what $8000 for the diesel engine option, it doesnt look that bad, assuming you can find CNG stations where you travel. That is what makes it not a viable option on the West Coast where only large metro areas have stations, and distances between them are hundreds of miles.
