CODE P0488 with aftermarket intake elbow installed
My Gear Box Z DPF-R programmer don't
Keep the wrench light out from P0488 DTC. Anybody know what resistor to add to which of the 4 wires that plugged to the throttle flap motor thingy In the stock intake (now removed) ?? |
why would you remove a safty device that should help prevent a possible runaway engine on that is know to overfill the crankcase and pump oil back in for reburn?
and sorry I dont know the awnser to the question |
I think I would put that stock intake back on for now.
|
You need a tuner that disables the EGR function in order to use that elbow.
|
My Tuner does delete the egr valve, but not the throttle
Plate motor in the intake elbow that I removed. I sent it back to Gear Box Z for them to re-program It to delete the throttle control code P0488 with No Success :-( I'm gonna call them back .... |

If u got the wrench your proably gonna end up with your truck going into limp mode after awhile, thats wat mine did tell i got the right spartan tunning im guessing ur cruise proably dosent work ither. Best to put it back tell u get the right tunning

Wrench light has been on for 1000 miles of so.
It runs fine so far .... The cruise control works fine. The Throttle Flap Motor that was in stock Intake Elbow, only regulated "air flow" when the EGR Valve was dumping Soot into the engine. Gear Box Z is checking into a programming "fix" for me. I just wish I knew what Ohm Resistor to put in the wiring harness to satisfy the PCM that the throttle valve flap motor was plugged up & working :-( |
Wrench Light on with code P0488
I used two 1K 1 Watt Resistors from Radio Shack to Satisfy the PCM that
the Throttle Motor was plugged up & working :-jammin I put one resistor between #1 black wire & #3 blue wires. I put other resistor between the #2 green/white wire & #4 green wires. |

Does the 6.0 have this throttle motor flap in the intake Similar to the 6.4 setup ?? With 4 wires hooked to it ?? |
I never saw a 6.4 set up. The throttle body is between the intake manifold and the elbow. one side has a plug that goes to a motor that opens and closes the butterfly 3 wires and the otherside has a ?position sensor with 2 wires. I havent set up a way to download pictures yet I can try to do that this weekend. What set up does the 6.4 have?
|
The EGR Valve & air flap motor (don't kno proper name) is all in the the stock intake elbow assy on my 6.4L, that I removed & installed the billet alum Aftermarket unit :D
|
on the 6l the elbow and the egr valve throttle body whatever you call it are 2 different pieces.
