Challenge on do it yourself ball joints on '00 4X4?

Good pal called and said his mother in laws 2000 Ranger 4X4 has a dry ball joint. We have done several other trucks but without looking at it I am curious to know the complexity. We are pretty handy and have just about any tool in my shop, or the neighbors. Can anyone tell me on a scale of 1-10 where this truck repair job ranks? Thanks

Pete: Did my 4X2 ball joints last month (2000) and it was a piece of cake. Just as long as you have a press. No big deal. Good luck!!:-wink

Here is a link from our Tech Info thread with photos on how to do the 4X2 BJ's, not certain how much different the 4X4 is with its torsen bar suspension. Let us know how it goes.
