Bad Pecan Harvest this year.......OK & TX

My boys and i just stopped by a local pecan orchard. Bad news = the drought this summer has severly severly affected the pecan harvest in OK and TX. Usually this orchard sells local native and TX pecans. Right now they only have local natives for sale and they are from another orchard, because they could not irrigate their trees. The other orchard was given permission to irrigate from a local lake so they were able to harvest. We bought 2 1/2 lbs at $5 a pound. OUch. Last year they were $3 something.....:(

Some good news; i now have permission to squirrel hunt another pecan orchard that is close to me. :-jammin
