Fun game. I thought I'd do better than I did.

83 percent. Like others, I thought I'd do better. It started off easy enough, but some of the GM stuff threw me off.

Did real well with the Chrysler and Ford pix.

83%, 40 of 48. I cheated. Got 78% the first time today, and we played this previously, some time in the last 2 years. About he same results then. The Kaiser, Hornet and early Mopar stuff just wasn't around much. A big old Hudson ran at the drags near our farm, but I was more interested in new stuff at the time....since the new stuff was 427 Fairlanes and 427 Corvettes... I think Ford put the 427 in a shopping cart too, didn't they...?

I stink. I only was able to get 69% right. :(

100% and there is an incorrect answer inre to the 1949 Oldsmobile.

The 1949 Oldsmobile did not introduce the first modern OHV V8, Cadillac did, beating Oldsmobile to the market by a month.

Even though its body is essentially the same as 1948, the 1949 Cadillac with its new OHV V8 was Motor Trend's first car of the year.

The Cadillac 331 cid V8 was running on test stands in 1936, the plan was to introduce it in 1942, but WWII interfered....so Cadillac waited until 1949 to introduce it.

1946/48: It was a sellers market, because no new cars had been assembled since February 1942, so anything could be sold. For example, 1946/48 Mopars are identical.

And...you gotta be sharp to tell a 1946 Ford from a 1947 or 1948, as only minor trim changes were made.

btw: Hudson hasn't raced in NASCAR since 1954, but still holds 4th place inre to wins.

1952/54 Hudson with its Twin-H-Power 308 flathead 6 and 'Step-Down" ride, RULED the tracks, winning more races than everyone else...combined.

Ed: Way back when, I had a 1950 Olds Club Coupe, used to race at the San Fernando Dragstrip. Never won, cuz some guy with a Hudson Hornet beat me every time.

I'm in need of recognizing less well-preserved cars (that have been thru a wash or two) :D.

First pic: The remains of the grille/front fenders: 1941/46 Chevrolet truck. The coupe body is likely a late 1930's Ford.

2nd pic: Prolly another Ford, but without seeing a side view, it's difficult to pin down the exact year.

Could be, but the front end does not mate with the coupe body. Chevy trucks did not have quarter windows until the 1970's. The rear of the coupe body, if a Ford, dates it to 1933/34.

I'm appalled at the lack of accuracy. Not a decent group on the whole thing.
