Also I'm doing this in a housing community who doesn't allow you to work on cars. Hopefully won't get a ticket. The reward and fun is worth the risk.

Got some time to go to the salvage yard today and found some deals I couldn't pass up.

New headliner that I was going to buy new but this one was in perfect shape. Also came with CHROME headliner trim.

Found these seats in an 06 F150 with center console that I'm going to customize.

Should be a great fit for the truck.

Your JY finds rock! All the chrome headliner trim I find is pitted and rusty. Ya gotta luv AZ for its dry climate.

Nice 68. I've got a red one.

Ya that's my dads free mustang that he found in San Diego at a body shop. no rust everything is there and we've been driving it that way for ten years. That is my first love but we want to save up a lot of money to make it show quality.

So jealouse of you guys that can work on your trucks outside in what looks like nice warm dry weather! Look forward to watching your build.

I understand completely. On my current build I'm pretty lucky. My father-in-law loaned me the space in his shop to work. But the rest of my life has mostly been working outdoors, no matter the time of the year.

Keep up the good work on the truck, looks like she'll be a nice ride once completed.

Bought a wrecked 68 for $500 and $7K later it looks like this. Shot the paint in my mom's garage:

I love that color and the rims. It has a nice stance do you have lowering coils? That will be one the chopping block when I get my truck done. I will be painting both in the garage. What do you got under the hood? I really want a fastback but they are way out of my acceptable price range.

HIO Silver 11-08-2011 09:19 PM

It's got shorter 620 lb coils in front and it's stock in the back. Mustangs, converse to dentsides, rode higher in front.

Under the hood? A mighty, mighty 200 cubic inch Ford suckin through a weezy Autolite 1100! Why the 200? It was an original six cylinder car plus its weak knees keep me out of trouble. The only way back then to get disc brakes was to go with a V8 suspension and rear axle setup. It has Granada discs in front (power) that stops on a dime. In fact, it stop so hard that snot will fling out of yer nose!

I have a 65 coupe with a V8 and manual trans too. I replaced its floor pans back in April... too many projects but everyone knows where to find me.

What color ya gonna shoot your rig?
