Sounds great! It should be nice. I replaced my leaf springs with some stiffer ones I had around and the springs in my seat are weak so the bumps are very noticable in my '60. My wife dosen't care to ride in it very often.

nice panel and welcome. dig the green mirror. hey spur, i put new front springs on mine and it rides so ruff that when you hit a bump the door opens. mental note to self "fix door"........."fix heater"........check local listings for hi temps. my wife doesnt care to ride in mine either. the kids love it though.:-hair

There certainly are a lot of benefits that go along with old Fridges!:)

Thanks Thundersnow for the Welcome. Yes, the green mirrors were horrible and are long gone. At one time the whole panel was that color. YUK!!!! I just finished installing my 2005 CV front suspension and am now working on some of the rust issues before putting it back together.

That CV front looks nestled in nicely. Since you are a "Darksider", is that your electric fan you plan on running sitting there on the window sill? LOL!

No Spurredon, That's the president of my "Fan Club". My one and only FAN!!!! :)

Welcome to FTE. I like that CrownVic front suspension. Hope it works out good for ya.

rcjccobra 11-20-2011 05:31 PM

Thanks Tom!! I just welcomed you to facebook. So far, the CV front end looks great. I'm getting some of the other work taken care of while I have the engine and trans out. I just finished swapping in an older CV differential and hope to start back with the engine after the holiday.

Tomget 11-20-2011 05:39 PM

Hey ya, I saw your comment at FB/cool.

Does that CV just bolt in place?:-huh

Pretty much, as far as front suspension swaps it doesn't get much easier.

Do some searching through this forum, lots of info and pictures to check out. The suspension is the same from 03-07 crown victoria.

rcjccobra, hows that engine coming along??

Scott

Hey Scott!! I haven't been on here for a while, but have been working on the panel. Got the engine in and the front clip back on. All went well, but if I did the CV swap again I would move it forward 1" from the original centerline. It worked fine other than I had some clearance issues at the crossmember and firewall. Just no need to have things tight.

Here's the over all look. I don't have the matching rear wheels on as I don't have tires for them, yet. I've driven it around my yard and it drives Great. Love the power steering!!!

Here's with the hood and added hood scoop. The scoop is off of a '69 Mustang Mach I. The shape matches the lines on the '57 hood and it has the turn signal indicators in the rear so you can see them from the cab. This also shows the front rolled pan.
