Engine Removal ?
Getting ready to pull the engine on a 05' 6.0 PSD to change the cam. Just wondering if I have to pull the cab ? or can I just pull the engine the old fashion way ? :-huh:-huh
Lifter failure, roller bearing through low pressure oil pump. Ran great the first 200,000 miles. Thanks Another halphast repair:-lamesign |

out of curiosity did you do any extended oil change intervals??
what kinda oil did you run??? |
I work in a shop in Denver, but no two post lift.
I do know the cam comes out last. I have access to International web site but not Ford. I been trusting you guys for much of my knowledge. Gotta pull the crank and I know not to take off the flange. I will add the cooler, I think i like the one from bulletproof, I don't know much about the maintenance. Only had it two weeks before the trouble started. (cranks no start) Ford dealer in Fort Collins showed me a Oasis report. Most service was done between 3500 miles to 4500. All ford stuff. Still running premium gold Anti freeze. EGR cooler only part replaced in 213,000 miles. Oh yeah the OEM cam is $637.00 Front cover (LPOP) $504.00 ARP Head studs $498.00 16 new lifters $509.00 and so on Thanks for all the info Hope to have it back on the road after Christmas. |
dang that sounds like quite a job...take lots o pics
|
arp head studs from browns deisel are $398.

May as well just buy a rebuilt short block. They are like 4k but all you have to do is replace it and your done.
|
another option is to buy a pice of ***** 6.0 truck and rebuild part of the motor.
What are the Stock specs for the OEM cam shaft? |
