Compression questions
 

I have a 1976 Ford F 150 with a 360 Fe,
my compressions are as follows
1: 111 psi
2: 95 psi
3: 111 psi
4: 105 psi
5: 111 psi
6: 105 psi
7: 80 psi
8: 109 psi

Is this ok or do I have problems
what is the compression supposed to be stock

IMO all of those are very low. Should be close to 75psi on the first pump and over 125 after 4. Is the engine currently able to run? I'd say warm it up good and then check again. Also, make sure you hold open the throttle blades while cranking over and have a battery charger on it at the same time. That way you won't deplete the battery while doing the check.

You might also squirt a shot of oil into each cylinder immediately before testing to see if it helps the rings seal better.

That engine should have about 130psi(ish in every cylinder. J20 (sorry I forgot your name) is right on how to check them. My thoughts are bad valve seats. If this is the case the oil trick won't matter much. If it's rings, the compression should go up a little.

After all, the engine is 37 years old. I'll be 39 in a couple months and I'm worn out too. It may be time for a rebuild.
