Help putting front end back together.....71 F250 Camper Special

Folks,

so I got all my front patrs back from the powder coater and starting to reassemble!! WOOOHOO!!
Prob is I can't figure out how the coil springs sit on the Ibeams. I have looked at the online diagrams but they aren't very clear.

Anyone have a good picture of the front end assembled? Here are a couple shots of what I currently have.

In the first picture is the cup/seat for the spring. Where does it go? Inside or outside of the spring?

Can't see the pics, Chris.

Love the red Chris.

Thank you TurboHunter!! It was actually a screwup with my powder coater, he gave me such a great deal I just didn't have the heart to ask him to do it over. It was supposed to match the rest of the truck........

I like highlighting the running gear.
Of course now you've opened a can of worms and have to make the whole underside look good.

LOL!! I totally agree!!

And Fab Fords forever is only what seven months away?? Sure am glad the engine and trans are both completely rebuilt already and sitting on the stand.

Just need to reassemble really.

Have fun and keep us posted.
I'm trying to get get mine done for that also.

BradyCouchman 09-29-2011 09:24 PM

did you have someone redo your king pins on those beams? or are you just reusing everything?

castone001 09-29-2011 11:23 PM

Brady: I took the spindles with a new King PIn set to National Auto here in Lake Elsinore. Only one I could find with a reamer :) only thing I am reusing without replacement or rebuild is the bolts :)

BradyCouchman 09-29-2011 11:44 PM

Where did you get your king pin set? And if you don't mind how much do they charge for it?

castone001 09-29-2011 11:47 PM

I got the king pins from napa!! 114.00. Then national auto charged me 130.00 for the labor.
I could have used the original ones I guess, but this way I KNOW its new :)
