Can you Tell Me About New Jersey?.....

I'm looking at a possible aerospace job in Newark, New Jersey. Can anyone tell me about this city and state? I currently live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and am very fond of living in this small town type community that has more open prairies and outdoors than there are paved streets and concrete. I moved here from the hussle and bussle of the D.C. area five years ago and love it. Is Jersey a giant overpopulated city? How's the crime rate? How are the auto inspection(c02 monitoring) laws? I drive a 78 f150 daily and don't want to sit in stop and go traffic for a couple of hours each day. I've never been past Baltimore, so I'd appreciate it if anyone can tell me about that area?

thanks,
-Ron

It's hell on earth. Inspection is terrible, second only to California. NJ and California are the "flagship" states with which who's ever inspection system is deemed the best, other states are supposed to adopt it.

Newark is bad. Very bad. Traffic is unbelievable, taxes are high, and it's probably like DC squared. Insurance is high. Houses are HIGH. 1.5 acre lot in my town (just an improved lot) is about 250k. Houses 500k-1mill. Unless you're getting a significant pay raise, stay in Tulsa.

I've lived in Jersey all my life and I'm just waiting for the right time to get out.
