quick queston

i have got some frieds telling me that if i keep the stock front end of my 55 f100 in its original location it won't drive worth a d#@n if i go to a radial tire. they are tellin me i need to have the front end moved forward and centered in the wheel wells for it to drive right with radial tires. Is there any truth to this?????

get some new friends...if your front end is in good shape ,,and aligned properly. you will enjoy a smoother ride..and better handling ...I 'll bet they drive a dodge ...

lol the whole thing didn't make sense to me but i had to ask. thanks so much :-X04

Yeah, don't listen to them. There's no sense to that at all. That's just as silly as shortening your fenders to center the wheels.

Most IFS conversons move the axle centerline forward one inch on 53-56 trucks to improve the looks of the truck but this would have little to do with how it drives or rides on radials. Technically, lengthening the wheelbase one inch should improve ride, as a longer wheelbase vehicle generally rides better than a shorter one but I highly doubt that a one inch increase would be noticeable...:)
