Best source for pillar pod and gauges?
I want to add a trans temp gauge, maybe a digital voltage, and a small tach if I can find that. I was thinking summit Racing or maybe even JC Whitney.
This new van is so quiet I can't even hear what the engine is doing at highway speeds with the radio on. I'd really like a tach but a trans temp is vital. |
You might would like to consider a vacuum gauge as for engine condition and for mileage...

Along with whatever gauges you eventually settle upon adding maybe consider Autometer gauge pods too. They have pillar mount as well as overhead versions, p/n 18017 & 18018.

Autometer trans temp and vacuum gauges in an Autometer pod
with Eqqus tach in my '01 E-350. Summit and Jegs are sources I use. JC Whitney does not have the reputation for me to use. BTW what vehicle do you have? |
Thx, JC Whitney isn't my favorite either.
02 e350 5.4l |
JC Whitney doesn't make any products....just buys & resales them.

Scotty you might want to call AutoMeter----their catalogs and website leaves a lot to be desired.
Even though some of their gauge pods will fit E-Series they're not so forthcoming which those are. |
I have this one .....http://www.summitracing.com/search/b...-350-econoline # 17316

blageurt, thanks for posting
With this set up do you still have accessibility to the "grab handle" on the pillar?? thanks, Mike |
Absolutely NOT........Real Performance Guages are worth 3-4 Times more expensive than Stock.......( Mine are all Auto meter Ghost ( Boost, Pyro ,Trans T* ) ...... did not even paint it...I just cut a access hole the bottom of the stock pillar , and ran my Chit...then attached the pillar Pod with Screws & I was Styling and Profiling......Ok , I had to drill the Manifold and Install the Thermocouple but , It is not that Involved.... I keep it simple........
