dtboothe,

It's been so long since I've replaced a 4wd actuator on a F-150 but off the top of my head here are a few key points to the job: There should be 6 allen head or torx head screws retaining the cap. Once the cap is removed there will be a large 'C' clip inside, this may require special pliers to remove. Once this is done there are a series of collars and bushings that should be kept in order so as to simplify re-installation.

Don't forget to grease-up all pivotal components upon re-installation. I'll conduct some research later when I get home from work so I could supplement these tips. Hopefully some other forum members will be able to more thoroughly address your question before then :-X03

Dfboothe, you talking about the vacuum OWE actuator behind the steering knuckle out at the wheel

I meant IWE actuator

yea i checked that and it won't hold vacuum
so i'm pretty sure it needs to be changed
