Brake Pedal Oil
 

Does anyone else have the oil dripping from the brake pedal on occasion? Doesn't happen all the time, I am trying to figure out what conditions cause it.

Yep! It's happened to me twice now. It's not brake fluid and looks like it may be related to the trailer brake controller. I'm waiting for my crappy service guy to call me back so I can get that checked out along with my scratched moonroof glass getting replaced.

Yeah, come to think of it - it only seems to happen when I tow the 5th wheel.

I havn't seen any on mine yet.

Yep, goin' on 7 months now (truck was delivered with it). I didn't want to get it done during the winter because I just wanted to drive the truck so when it came time to get it done, my dealer called Ford and get this, Ford tells him that they need to try and repair it first. I'm like, huh, how do you repair a 12" gouge in glass? He says, I have no clue so I have some homework. I gave him a couple of months for that, called him last week, haven't heard back. I might have to make a call to the owner and have him light a fire under this service guys a$$... I also wanted to talk to him about programmers since 5 star was having a sale but since he never called me back, no programmer for me... :-arrgh

The scratch is off to the side of the glass so you can barely see it from the inside, but I know it's there so it bothers me.

I ordered my programmer on Tuesday. It should be here today. The sale is the only reason I got it. You should call Mike back and see if he will give you the sale price.

This leak hasn't happened on mine yet but I will keep an eye on it.

I'm reluctant to get it at this point anyways. I want to throw in some new door speakers in the truck and my wife/kids atv's need some major attention. New tires are needed for my Kodiak 450 and I need a separate wheel for my XR650L. I'm tired of changing tires from street to dirt so a new rear wheel is on deck! I need a 2nd job...lol

I've only hooked up my flatbed trailer a few times and each time afterwards is when I see the dribble on my husky liners. Do you have access to any documentation that outlines what's attached on the back of the brake pedal and the fluid involved?

I have had liners in my truck since day one and so far not one drop, touch wood.

Could it be a fifth wheel issue. I have TT and use the brake controller but no oil.

Mine is a fifth wheel though.

I found what appeared to be maybe 1 or 2 drops of some sort of fluid on my Husky Liner. It's only happened once and the only thing in common in my case is I had a trailer plugged in, 4 pin, not the round one. Had to pull a 700Lb roll of hay, no electric brakes nothing. The source seemed to be the back of the brake pedal only, no fluid running down the pedal, weired. Once, not concerned, twice, off to the dealer I go.

Well I will keep a eye out for it. Hooking up the trailer to bring it home from a 2 week camping trip on Monday.

My flatbed trailer is a round plug with trailer brakes.

Leak has happened 2x to me. It's a pretty small amount and without having a rubber floormat, I bet you'd never notice it.

I am going to put some paper down next Monday to see if I can catch it. This way might be able to follow it up to see exactly where it is coming from.
