1999 F150 4.6L - Injector questions
 

Well first and foremost I need to know what kind of injectors come in a stock 1999 4.6L F150 (keep in mind, this model doesn't have COP's, whether or not that makes a difference). By what kind, I mean are they EV1 or EV6?? I have searched and cannot get a definite answer. Also, just wanted to double check, they are 19lbs./hr injectors, correct??

I probably have some further questions, but I am at work right now so my time is limited, and getting this answer alone will get me started on my repair process. Thanks in advance for your responses!!

I don't know what your truck has now but they are not critical for injectors as long as the plug is correct.
Look at the ROCK AUTO site for injectors for F150 4.6 and you will see a whole bunch of alterate Ford part numbers that can be used.
Look on yours for PN and color.
Just curious what is the reason for changing them other than general maintaince?

Not trying to replace, trying to thoroughly clean. And to do that, I need a parts kit that supplies new filters and o-rings, as well as a test bracket. In order to buy this kit, I first need to know if I have EV1 or EV6 because the filters and o-rings, as well as the test bracket, are different sizes.

Send `em to a local injector shop !
 

I send all the injectors that I want cleaned to my local injector shop... they not only do diesel but as well as gas injectors ...they clean them with an alkaline solution while flow testing them at the same time on their bench machine... then they put new top hat filters and o-rings before they send them back to me... I get charged between 25-35 dollars per injector

that does seem like a tempting idea, but the kit i'm looking at online with all the new filters, o-rings, and test bracket, costs ~$25, and the UV jewelry cleaner costs ~$30 at harbor frieght, and a bottle of concentrated fuel injector cleaner costs ~$2. So for a total of ~$60 i find that to be a bit of a cheaper DIY alternative.

thanks for the responses guys. fortunately, after doing some other work to the truck first, i was able to find that a faulty injector was not causing my problem, but i will keep this thread tagged in case i ever need to do that job. thanks!
