Bed Weight?
 

I'm removing my '66 Longbed this weekend. I've done a search and read the tips/tricks and have my impact wrench, penetrating oil and buddies on speed-dial... I was wondering, though, if anyone knew the exact weight of the bed? Not for lifting purposes, but I'm wondering if it exceeds the working load limit of my sawhorse set... thanks.

Its 485 pounds...minus the bedside toolbox...and spare carrier if it has one inside the bed.
The carrier adds 10 pounds.

This is according to the 1964 Salesmans Facts Book supplied to the dealers by Ford Motor Co. with an intro page dated September 1963.

I would estimate the bedside toolbox adds 40 pounds...its 30 pounds for the shortbed toolbox.

The beds are pretty light maybe 400lbs total

Mine is lighter then that.
I would say 30 pounds lighter with the rust holes in the bed lol

Mine "had" holes in it, now its just 1 hole. ;)

Thanks, all... cute pic... that is what I'm trying to avoid! (the rust hole, not the kid... too late for that!)

I don't know the weight but I have gotten on my hands and knees crawled under an inverted bed lifted it and moved it where I wanted it on more than one occasion. I wouldn't think I could lift 400lbs.

I have also with someone on the other side lifted them and moved them off the chassis.
