56 f100 original engine paint colors
 

i just took my original 223 inline 6 out of my f100 to the machine shop to be cleaned. My engine is painted red but I read in the mid fifties catalog that these engines were a pale yellow color orginally. When dissassembling i did notice some yellowish color on some parts of the engine where there was flaking. So what is the right color?
I also was wondering what color the valve covers were as well. Were they the same color as the engine or painted a different color? Any suggestions on brands of engine paint products to use as well?
