!!!YOUR NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS!!!!

I just got in a 04 F-350 6.0 and it has been Studded and EGR deleted and it has NO tune what so ever its a work truck for a lawn care business the truck was done by another shop about a year ago, It has Blown the Head Gaskets!!! what could cause this??? im curoius

wulfman 04-16-2011 08:00 PM

The heads were not done right to start with, maybe not checked for flatness. Just because it was studded does not mean it will not break again.

That's what I was thinking but I didn't want to question the other shops work. They are very respected.

Ricohman 04-16-2011 08:40 PM

My 6.0 was bone stock and had 4 head gaskets replaced by the time I sold it.
I didn't drive it hard and it was a real puzzler. It never cost me anything as warranty took care of it but I didn't want it out of warranty.
That said, I am thinking about buying another 6.0 for a project.
Are the last years any better than the first?

I guess you've never met Jose, the gardener. He's known as the Mario Andretti of Mazatlan. He co-drove in the 1954 Carrera Panamerica and blew the heads off his Cadillac.

Iv'e read somewhere that pushing over 20psi at lower than normal operating temps can be the killer even with studs ( witch I don't have yet) so if I am towing I usually warm up a few more minutes just to be sure. I'll blow off anything on the trip later. Like XB70 was saying who knows how the lawn care guys drove it in the first 15 min.

not alway the case.reality is nothing is foolproof. we seem to wind up with technologicaly advanced fools all the time.
being a gardners work truck the first thing that comes to mind is what was on the trailer hooked to the back. Im thinking maybe an overloaded truck.

joe blow 04-17-2011 07:24 AM

cheezit,

In order for this truck to be overloaded by a gardener he would have to been carrying 2000 lawnmowers and 200 employees man......:D and even then I don't think so.

cheezit 04-17-2011 07:26 AM

gardeners lay brick, large trailes full of sod, bobcats. think landscape not gardner.
I hate to tell you the things we see.

BLADE35 04-17-2011 01:59 PM

lots use those mini track hoes

jdadamsjr 04-17-2011 04:40 PM

I once hauled a trailer full of sod with my lawn tractor....

until it rained all night :) :) :)

How overloaded does it need to be for Jose to start it, floor it to the next job two blocks away, park it for 45 minutes and repeat 10 times per day?

What if they're Indian gardeners?

Think he has red flag on the back? LOL and where is his wide load lead driver?

Y'all guys r Crazy. I'm pretty sure this truck has been abused I always look at the Hi-Perf side of things. And tend to overlook the overworked side of it
