junkyard look out list

I noticed the 80-86 sub-forum has a sticky up for a junkyard list.
I think we Ga fellows should start one, I don't have but one good yard I can go to, and it takes me 45 mins to get there.. That's a lot of gas in my hog..

I need parts for 73-79 trucks, if anyone runs across a used 4bbl intake for a 400M in a yard, let me know and if I still need it, I will pay for someone to pick it up or if the yard has plenty of 87-96 or 73-79 trucks I may take a ride up (can't get much further down than lowndes county lol). Also I'm on the look out for a dual tank 73-79 bed. I know I don't have the cash for one right now... But if anyone finds one I'll even consider testicular amputation to get it, but I will find the money somewhere.

Everyone is welcome to post up what they need/want here..

I know its early but I think if this takes off how I hope we make it a sticky..

Hi Danger Ranger! I have been out of the loop for awhile due to work but I may have a lead on a 400 4bbl intake. If I remember correctly it is aftermarket. I will have to check and see if the yard still has it. Let me know if you are still interested.

Austin26372 04-26-2011 12:52 PM

Good idea. I'm looking for front captains chairs & a center console out of a bronco...

Pop's76 04-26-2011 01:00 PM

What model years?

There aren't many bronco's in the yard in moltrie that I've seen but then again, I'm on the hunt for stuff for my 78 all the time.
I'll look next time I'm there for ya!

And pop's76 I still need (well want) a 4bbl intake for my 400.. I'm interested if the price is right.

Well I'm looking for a decent tailgate for a 73-79 F-series (mine is a crappy aftermarket one) with at least the two upper and lower long horizontal pieces (I have the other pieces), a 67-72 F-series black or red steering wheel with horn button/ring, and decent black door panels. That's all I can think of for now; everything is for my '73 F-100. Thanks guys.

danger-ranger93 08-05-2011 10:16 PM

Hey caleb, I might know where some 5th gen stuff is for ya. I'll have to see if he has what you want but there may be a good chance he has it.

Ok thanks Michael! I found a blue steering wheel in a junkyard near me but it wouldn't match my red and black interior.

danger-ranger93 08-07-2011 10:04 PM

If my guy doesn't have the parts you want, there is a 70 F100 that's red that may have the interior you want in ty ty for 850. I just saw it on CL.

73FordF100 08-08-2011 05:06 PM

Ok thanks danger!

jbirdsvt 08-09-2011 02:09 PM

hey y'all. i'm in middle GA and need a hood and some door panels for 80-86 150. can't find anywhere!

dyingtolive 10-23-2011 10:00 PM

I posted this in the 80-86 Forum. But I figure most of you guys are alot closer to me, so I might as well post in here, right?

Alright. So, my wishlist is kind of long, and full of items that are mostly readily available outside the junkyard. However, most private owners want more for these items than I'm able to spend, and I can't find anything that I want in my local Pull-A-Part yards (except for a 460 that had at least 4 slung rods. Might still go grab the mounts/perches/various and sundry 460 parts). This may be a long shot, but I figured maybe you guys could help me out.

1. Complete 460. Preferably '83-'86, but pre-'83 will work. Found one in an '86 F350 at a Pull-A-Part about an hour from my house. Worked my azz off to pull it, only to find that the motor had all kinds of holes in the oil pan. Looking to spend: $200-$250.

2. This one is an either/or. I want a 4x4 ZF 5-Speed transmission to fit a 460. I know this one will be exceedingly hard to find, so a 460 T-18 bellhousing, or an NP435 will suffice. Looking to spend: $100-$250

3. The extremely hard to find. I'm looking for a 77.5-79/85.5-91 High-Pinion, Kingpin Dana 60 front axle, not to be confused (which it often is) with the Dana 44 HD. The hubs on the D60 are shorter and fatter, and have bigger differential cover bolts than the D44 does. These can be found in select '77.5-'79 F-250's, the '79 F-350, and 85.5-91 F-350's. I know where these are for $1,000+, but Pull-A-Part only charges about $200. Looking to spend: $200-$400.

4. A Sterling 10.25 rear. I can get one of these for pretty cheap, about $100 at my local Pull-A-Parts, which seem to have a few of them, so this one isn't a biggie. But if you guys can find one for like $50, that'd be great.

Now, unfortunately, these are all big parts, so shipping is out. So if any of you guys go to yards that are within about an hour to two hour drive of Atlanta, keep an eye out. If you happen to spot one, let me know. It'll be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey Jake, I don't know if you've found any of this stuff or not. But, there is a JY in Emerson (between Acworth and Cartersville), named Cagles Auto Parts, (1139 Old Alabama Rd., Cartersville, GA 30120, 770-382-4080, 1-888-382-0199, 770-382-0199). I been there a couple of times and they have had some trucks around our years. They let you walk the yard, and their prices are reasonable. Might be worth a try.

Hmm. Well, I've already got the 460 and a T-19 trans in the form of an '85 F-350. But I'm still on the lookout for the D60 and a 4x4 ZF. A set of rear door panels for said F-350 and a 6.9 IDI and necessary parts for a swap have been added to the list as well. I've never heard of those guys, I'll have to take a day to go check them out. Thanks for the tip, bud!

As with most all of the JY's around here, they are only open on the weekdays till 5pm. I sure do wish they were open on the weekends, cause I have to take a day off of work just to go. If you do decide to go there, you could give me a heads up and maybe I could take a day off and we could go together.

Its not a junk yard but there is a dent sitting in Pelham GA. Coming off of HWY19 going into downtown pelham, when you get to the stop sign turn right, It is about 1/2 a block down on the right, next to the 18 wheeler repair shop. I looked at it before I deployed overseas- Army- Kosovo. I know the guy said he would sell it, but can't remember a price.
